East Craigs is a popular residential suburb of Edinburgh to the north west of the City.
The retail units are the first phase of this mixed use development from Mactaggart & Mickel Homes, that includes 7,000 square feet of retail space, 18 affordable housing units on behalf of Castle Rock Edinvar Housing Association and 54 private two-storey terraced homes and three and four bedroom three-storey town houses constructed on a 3.8 acres site.
The construction of the retail units is now complete.
Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts spent five months building the premium retail space for Lloyds Pharmacy, the Co-operative supermarket and Supperbowl an independent hot food operator. Lloyds Pharmacy and the Co-operative supermarket opened on 14th December 2010, while Supperbowl are aiming to be open to the public early in the New Year, all providing a boost to the local community and its economy.
The remainder of the site will be redeveloped during 2011 for residential use comprising a mix of flats and townhouses, with 6 plots already reserved.

Rateable Value
