
Mactaggart & Mickel received planning permission in March 2009 for a residential development of 74 units with associated open space and car parking. The proposals also included 710 square metres of Class 1 retail floorspace.
The residential units comprise a mix of two storey terraced family units and three storey flatted blocks linked to four bedroom town houses. The houses all have private rear gardens with communal areas around the flats.
18 of the residential units were allocated as affordable housing and are being built by Mactaggart & Mickel for Castle Rock Edinvar. These consist of two bedroom and 3 bedroom flats, housed within a block to the south of the site.
The retail parade has been completed and includes a Co-op, Lloyds Pharmacy and hot food store all of which are now open for business.
