Mactaggart & Mickel’s Carrongrove site is a former paper mill which closed in early 2007. The site measures 33 acres and is located to the west of Denny, Stirlingshire, on the banks of the River Carron. The demolition of the former mill buildings took over a year and was completed in October 2009.
We are in the process of securing planning permission from Falkirk Council for a total of 180 homes with 27 of these affordable and 7000 sq ft of business/retail space. The residential units will comprise a mix of detached and semi detached family units as well and as two storey terraces and three storey flatted blocks. The houses all have private rear gardens with communal areas around the flats.
In addition the B Listed Carrongrove House will be sympathetically converted from its existing office use into 6 high quality residential flats.

Mactaggart & Mickel’s proposals will redevelop a vacant brownfield site and will benefit the local community by providing:
- Range of housing mix and tenure to meet the local need.
- A fish pass for salmon travelling up the River Carron.
- Infrastructure upgrades required to service the site including a new roundabout at the site entrance.
- A new community play facility.
- A future for the B Listed Carrongrove House.
