The award winning family housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel Group has announced the successful acquisition of a housing site in the prestigious Clackmannanshire town of Dollar. The land, which is located off Lover’s Loan towards the south eastern corner of Dollar, benefits from an existing permission to build 20 large detached family homes.

The company will submit a detailed plan to Clackmannanshire Council in the early summer and construction is likely to start on the homes in 2013. Proposals also include a number of other localised improvements including an expanded sports pitch for Strathdevon Primary School and an additional local cemetery provision, with an upgrade to Lover’s Loan also planned.

Dollar is a strong location in the Scottish market and has attracted consistent demand through the economic cycle. The project marks a return to Dollar for Mactaggart & Mickel Group, who last built in the area over 20 years ago, and it will form part of the company’s three year build programme, a commitment to deliver a diverse and balanced portfolio of attractive property in Scotland.
