Local Information
Meadow Belles is our development in Mauchline. Rural Splendour Mauchline is attractively positioned in rolling East Ayrshire countryside, perfectly situated to allow village living while offering quick and easy access to Kilmarnock and Ayr, eight and eleven miles distant, respectively.
The town has a renowned historic link with Robert Burns. Burns drew inspiration for ‘The Jolly Beggars’ poem at Poosie Nansies, an 18th century establishment, which is still a thriving business today. Mauchline has a most intriguing history; well worthy of keen investigation with some wonderful features including Mauchline Castle, The Burns National Memorial and the magnificent Ballochmyle Viaduct, which featured in the movie Mission Impossible.
Today the village is well served by agricultural, manufacturing, retail and wholesale endeavours. East Ayrshire features a wide array of golf courses, walking and riding opportunities while the lovely beaches of the Clyde coast are just a short drive away. Good schools and leisure opportunities are backed up by transport links including the railway station at nearby Auchinleck, and while Prestwick Airport is a short drive away, Glasgow
International Airport can be reached in less than forty minutes.
