This 60 acre greenfield site near the Merseyside town of Maghull was secured by Mactaggart & Mickel in 2010.
In June 2011, we submitted a representation to Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council seeking to allocate 500 residential homes on the site. The representation also included plans for local food, retail and community facilities in the area. This urban extension would add to the physical and environmental regeneration of Lydiate, increasing housing stock and retail opportunities in the area.
By the end of 2011, Mactaggart & Mickel will have conducted a number of meetings with the local community, equipping local shareholders and homeowners with information on the potential development of Lydiate village. Our proactive response ensures all interested parties are fully aware of any proposed plans and gives them a platform on which to discuss possible advantages and disadvantages to any future development.
This holistic approach to strategic land development guarantees all aspects of any potential development are thoroughly considered. For both professional planners and local councillors alike, this helps to secure a successful and professional outcome.
With negotiations now well underway, Mactaggart & Mickel expect a decision on the Lydiate site to be made by Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council in early 2012. This could see development in the area taking place by 2014.
