In 2009 Mactaggart & Mickel secured an interest in a 45 acre greenfield site in the large village of Shavington, near Crewe.

Earlier this year, representations were submitted promoting 450 residential homes at the site, which would include local food store provision, small business units and offices.

Commonly known as the ‘Shavington Triangle’, the proposed urban extension of Shavington would be located to the south of Newcastle Road, creating a range of new homes and equipping the area for population expansion. Working in full cooperation with Cheshire East Council, Mactaggart & Mickel intends to hold a community consultation over the proposed urban extension of Shavington towards the end of 2011. Plans for an earlier consultation were postponed to allow Cheshire East Council to conduct their own consultation informing local residents of the plans.

Through continual communication and collaboration Mactaggart & Mickel strive to deliver the best possible outcomes for their landowners and local communities alike. At all times, we work in cooperation with local authorities. This ethical approach to business has gained Mactaggart & Mickel national recognition in the property marketplace.

We now expect a decision on the proposed mixed-use development in Shavington by as early as 2013.
