Mactaggart & Mickel Timber Systems was founded in 2007. Combining the experience and expertise of an established timber systems company with the long heritage of a leading independent housebuilder founded in 1925, we offer a market-leading product and service. Although only in business a short time, we’ve already expanded the company, with a second manufacturing facility and increased staff numbers. We are delighted to be the sole supplier of timber systems to Mactaggart and Mickel Contracts for their construction of part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village.

Our financial stability is due in part to our parent company Mactaggart & Mickel Group, which prides itself on the strength of its balance sheet, the support from its lenders and its current profitable trading performance. The strength of a company’s financial covenant is the key consideration for customers, suppliers and employees alike, and this strength was a key factor in the Group’s original successful drive for diversification, which resulted in the investment in the Timber Systems and enabled the R&D which produced our unique and innovative product range. The Group has over 85 years behind it as a business and our current financial standing should enable us to withstand what the current climate brings, and enable us to take advantage of the upturn when it arrives.
