Our Building Communities Fund has helped… Denny Air Cadets!

Our Building Communities Fund donations go towards supporting local projects and good causes in the areas in which we build. Winning applications are selected by a judging panel made up of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes employees from across the company.

One of the most recent causes chosen to receive a donation of £750 is  the 867 (Denny) Air Cadets Squadron, a volunteer Youth organisation in Denny, near Falkirk, which provides training to young people aged 12 to 20 while encouraging the spirit of adventure, qualities of leadership and good citizenship. The organisation’s aim is to make these objectives and opportunities open to all children in the local community, which is also where our upcoming development of one- to four-bed homes, Carrongrove, will be launching in the Autumn.

The funds were put towards purchasing a gazebo for outdoor events, which was most recently put to good use at Denny Gala Day on 27th May (pictured).

A few other recent recipients of Building Communities funds include:-

    • Dalkeith-based Children 1st and their Midlothian Young Carers project.
    • Wester Cleddens Primary School, who are creating an outdoor sensory garden.
    • CrossReach (The Social Care Council of the Church of Scotland) in Edinburgh, who provide many social services including counselling to sufferers of pre and postnatal depression.
    • Barrhead YFC Youth football club, in an ongoing sponsorship arrangement supporting the club’s many activities..

Our Building Communities Fund is still open for applications!

We welcome submissions from charities, community groups, sports teams and schools within a five mile radius of any live Mactaggart & Mickel Homes development – click here for more details of how to apply.
