We have many customers who go on to buy their second and even third Mac & Mic home and often several generations of a family have all bought from us. Here are just a few of their thoughts
A year or two ago, Kevin and Lorna Macaulay were newlyweds, planning a family and looking to move to a bigger home from their modern flat in Thornliebank.
In November 2015 they became aware of Barnton Park Wood, chose the three-bed Elm house style and started the exciting process of planning their new home. By July 2016 the move was complete and they were all settled in.
Kevin said “The whole buying process went without a hitch. We had plenty of opportunities to speak to the sales consultants throughout, and knew they were only a phone call away. We moved in on exactly the date we had been given so we could plan everything around that.”
“On top of that, it was all the little touches, such as champagne waiting for us when we moved in. Lynn the sales consultant even dropped in a new outfit for our baby Annabel. We received such a personal service, and the sales team really went above and beyond.”
“We’ve got so much more space here – more cupboards than we know what to do with! We’re never on top of each other, as we’ve got the living, dining and kitchen area plus another lounge.”
The family settled quickly and easily in to their new home; Lorna said: “The kitchen is our pride and joy. We got to pick all the features we wanted so it was exactly as we want it. We love the overall finish of the house, everything is fresh and new and we don’t have to worry about repairs or redecorating. A lot of people comment on how big the garden is as they don’t expect a new build to have such a spacious garden. We’re so happy here, and love living in the area as it’s an ideal place to bring up kids.”
Jenny Anderson had been looking for a property which combined energy efficiency with a stylish design, and, while out walking her dog in the surrounding woodland, she literally stumbled across her dream development at Lockhart Woods.
Located in the exclusive Morningside area in Edinburgh, Lockhart Woods offers the best of both worlds with its tranquil location and green space, coupled with its close proximity to the city centre. The home designs make the most of the natural light and views of the peaceful surrounding woodland, with terraces, balconies and large windows.Jenny chose the three-bedroom semi-detached Silver Birch home for her, her dog and three children.
“The high ceilings and full-height windows were a huge selling point as they create light and airy rooms. I also love the integral garage and generous storage. The walk-in cupboard under the stairs is just what every family needs.”
“Ordering from plan required a bit of imagination, but the sales consultants were happy to take me round one of the showhomes to get an idea of the choices and styles available to me.” Jenny was able to customise her house with upgraded features, such as a warming drawer to keep food hot, and a Quooker instant hot water tap.
The energy-efficient heating system has proved to be a favourite feature; “The heating and insulation are not only eco-friendly, but also make my home cost effective and my energy bills lower. Another great selling point is safety; the windows and doors are double glazed and have a three-point locking system in place, along with a state-of-the-art security alarm.”
“From the beginning to the end, the sales team has been incredibly helpful and was always on hand in the run up to the completion date. Their willingness to assist in all aspects of the move was second to none. I would definitely recommend Mactaggart & Mickel Homes to anyone looking to buy a new house. Their professional conduct and customer service, along with the quality and workmanship, have been commendable.”
“We came to Troon to visit our son, and we loved the area so much that we decided to relocate. We thought Braemore Wood was a very appealing development. It offered us privacy and great value for money compared to where we lived at the time.
“The process was smoother than we expected, especially considering we were based down south, dealing with things over the phone. Our Sales Consultant Pat and our solicitors helped make the process as straightforward as possible. Pat was a great help throughout the sale and after we moved in.
“It was great to move to a home where everything was new. I enjoy spending time in every room in our new home; the utility room is ideal for our little dog, while the kitchen has a great, spacious layout. Another feature I particularly like is the separate dressing room in the master bedroom.”
A major draw for Sandra and Peter was Troon itself. “It’s such a peaceful place and we take a walk on the beach every morning, only five minutes away. Every day here feels like we’re on holiday – we love it!
“When we first saw it we thought the development was very well designed in terms of the distance between the houses, their positioning and the size of the gardens which we thought we’d have to compromise on in a new build home. We were immediately taken with the design and flow of the five-bedroom Shuna home. Quality and unique features were important to us, especially coming from an older home that we loved but just didn’t suit our purposes anymore. It was clear that the stamp of quality was all over the development.” The sales care we received in the process of buying our home and after we moved in has been fantastic. Linda made the whole process easy and clear and we really trusted her with our purchase. “Our home offered us excellent value for money in the Milngavie area. The quality of every detail of our home and our interactions with all the team at Douglas Gardens reaffirmed our decision to buy with Mactaggart & Mickel Homes. I’ve already recommended them to my colleague who has since bought her new home at the company’s development in Symington.”
“When we first saw it we thought the development looked lovely. We liked that it had little parks built in throughout the development – it seemed geared up to be quite social.
“We love the whole house but our favourite room has to be the kitchen – we got to choose the tiles and the counter tops and to add little extras like the double oven so it feels like it has our stamp on it. I like to cook to unwind sometimes so it’s great for me.
“We were really happy with the service we received it was really excellent, you could tell they were really on top of things - they made the whole process so easy for us. We would definitely recommend buying with Mactaggart & Mickel to our friends.”
“I’ve always been afraid of buying a house because I thought it was quite a complex process but Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ sales advisor took the time to explain things to us and reassure us. I knew from that point on, if I bought a house from Mactaggart & Mickel Homes they would be with us every step of the way.”
“The staff worked so hard to make the process as easy as possible and made us feel like we could go to them for advice at any time. I found all my worries and anxiety disappeared and all I felt was excitement!”
“I am so grateful to Mactaggart & Mickel Homes, throughout the whole process they talked us through everything step by step to ensure we understood the details and were comfortable.
“When we moved out of our old house and were between homes it was difficult as the kids weren’t as close to their school and friends. Mactaggart & Mickel Homes were excellent and brought our move-in date forward to help – something I can’t thank them enough for.
“Overall, my whole experience with Mactaggart & Mickel Homes has been flawless – they really go above and beyond for their customers. My family and I are now looking forward to spending many happy years in our new home.”
