ANDREW MICKEL Homes Chairman

Andrew Mickel

A fourth-generation family member, Andrew Mickel joined the company in 2000 and is also the former Chairman and Vice Chairman of Homes for Scotland. Having worked with consultants Caws & Morris in London on commercial, transport and residential projects during the 1990s, Andrew currently works with the CBI Planning Group, the Planning Improvement Service for Scottish Government, and has held a non-executive directorship with an investment trust. As well as a Board member of the Central Scotland Green Network he is also a director of a community development project in the East End of Glasgow and acts as an advisor for Planning Aid Scotland.

ED MONAGHAN Managing Director

Ed Monaghan

Group Chief Executive Ed Monaghan joined the company as an apprentice at 16. His 30 years of experience place him in a uniquely strong position within our industry. 

Ed chairs the Homes for Scotland Working Group on Skills & Training and the Working Group tasked with producing a manifesto for the forthcoming Scottish Elections. He is also a member of the Scottish Construction Skills Group and sits on the Scottish Building Apprenticeship and Training Council as well as the Metropolitan College’s Liaison Board.

Ed is a founding member of City Legacy, the consortium charged with delivering the Athletes Village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and sits on the board of Rosemount, a community-based charity which assists local people into employment and helps asylum seekers gain new skills. 

JOANNE CASEY Sales & Marketing Director

Joanne Casey

Joanne joined the company as Sales Director in October 2008. With 23 years’ experience in new home sales, having held similar positions with Miller and Park Lane, Joanne brought a wealth of knowledge to the team.

Joanne is responsible for leading Mactaggart & Mickel’s team of 15 sales consultants at its 15 developments across central Scotland from Edinburgh to Ayr. She is also instrumental in the creation of new sales initiatives and their marketing, and since joining, Joanne has transformed Mactaggart & Mickel’s Homes’ web presence to provide greater impact and ease for the user, to streamline the buying process.

Joanne is a member of various charities; she is on the foundation board of Pilotlight Scotland and is also a board member of Women of Influence. In addition she sits on the National Marketing Committee of Women in Property and on other business advisory committees.

 

PAUL MCANINCH Finance Director

Paul McAninch

Paul, a fellow member of ACCA, joined Mactaggart & Mickel in 2003 as a Management Accountant and was subsequently promoted to Head of Finance in 2005. Paul was promoted again to Finance Director of Mactaggart & Mickel Homes in May 2011. Paul continues to manage the financial risks within the diverse businesses of the Group along with leading the IT strategy. Paul is a trustee of the Mactaggart & Mickel Retirement Benefits Scheme, a defined benefit scheme, sponsored by the Group. He regularly attends the Scottish FD’s forum. Away from the office Paul’s main interests are football and cycling and spending time with his young family. 

  

PETER SHEPHERD Production Director

Peter Shepherd

Peter joined Mactaggart & Mickel as a Planning Engineer in 1990 and was tasked with developing the programming and project management function within the organisation. His responsibilities grew to include the development and management of the 3 and 5 year strategic plans for our Homes business, as Production Manager. More recently Peter has been closely involved in the development of our Timber Systems business and heads our newly established Contracts business unit. Following his promotion to Production Director in 2011 he leads a strong established team responsible for the development and delivery of the on site construction process. Outside of work, his time revolves around his three loves of family, fishing and football.

  

MARION FORBES HR Director

Marion Forbes

Marion joined Mactaggart & Mickel in March 2006 as HR Manager for the Homes business.  Marion was responsible for setting up the HR Function within Mactaggart & Mickel and assisting the company to achieve Investors in People Status in 2007 and again in 2010.  Marion was promoted to HR director in May 2011 and is responsible for HR, Training and Development, Health and Safety and the Admin team.  Outside of work Marion is a Director on the Board of The Rock Trust charity, is a voluntary youth group leader and enjoys spending time with her two children.
