Winning streak for Mactaggart & Mickel at NHBC awards
Distinguished Scottish homebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel has done it again - as the company has scooped the NHBC Regional Award (small to medium category) for the third year running at this year’s ceremony.
The company continues to be the toast of the UK building industry, having secured numerous NHBC awards over the last five years. At the awards ceremony held at Glasgow’s Holiday Inn today, 3 October, infamous Mactaggart & Mickel Senior Site Manager Paddy Malone was the recipient of the Regional Award and a ‘Seal of Excellence’ for the company’s superior development – The Grange, at Perceton in North Ayrshire.
Colleagues George Dow and Les Duncan, who each won a ‘Pride in the Job’ Quality award respectively for Mactaggart & Mickel’s Malleny Grove development in Newton Mearns and Noddsdale Meadow in Largs earlier in the year, joined Paddy at the ceremony. The company’s triumph continues to secure Mactaggart & Mickel’s position and reputation as a developer of outstanding quality.
The Regional award and ‘Seal of Excellence’ also follow on from Paddy’s ‘Pride in the Job’ Quality Award earlier in the year. Only 13 Quality Awards were given out in the small to medium category in Scotland, and the fact that Mactaggart & Mickel secured 23% of these is again indicative of the company’s dedicated level of commitment to its working practices.
The NHBC awards are the most coveted trophies of the building industry and are only bestowed on individuals who consistently demonstrate the highest standards of excellence in their work.
“ This is an excellent achievement for Mactaggart & Mickel to again win the Regional honour as well as a ‘Seal of Excellence’ award. The company is in the very fortunate position of being nominated and winning several NHBC awards over the last five years in succession.
“The accolades presented to individual site managers are a credit to them, their site team and the company as a whole. As an organisation, Mactaggart & Mickel strives to adhere to its founding principles of providing products of outstanding quality, which are the result of a lot of hard work by a dedicated team of staff. The fact that we continue to be the recipient of so many NHBC awards indicates that we are continuing to hold fast to the fundamental values that we set out to achieve nearly 80 years ago,” said John Craig, Chairman, Mactaggart & Mickel.
Following the ‘Seal of Excellence’ and Regional Award success for the company, Senior Site Manager Paddy Malone will again be put forward with eight other regional finalists for the NHBC UK Supreme Award 2003, which will be held at the beginning of next year.
