We are very pleased to announce that today at Mactaggart & Mickel we sold our first home through the Government’s “Help to Buy” Shared Equity scheme, which has been taken up by prospective homebuyers in the thousands over the past few weeks, giving a much-needed boost to the market.
The purchase was made on our Williamwood development in Clarkston, by a young family who are now delighted to be taking up residence in their new home, a four-bedroom Oak townhouse. The new residents applied to the Help to Buy scheme with days of its announcement on the 1st October, and they were delighted to receive a “yes” reply just two days later.
The Help to Buy (Scotland) Scheme is a Scottish Government scheme to help people to buy a new build home from a participating home builder.
The scheme is open to all home buyers, not just first time buyers, and provides help of up to 20% of the purchase price of a home. For more information click here to visit the Scottish Government’s Help to Buy information page.
