On 2nd December we received a surprise Outstanding Contribution award at the Herald Scottish Family Business Awards in Glasgow, in recognition of our economic and social impact as a Scottish-headquartered family business over the years.
More than 300 guests from family businesses across all industries in Scotland attended the awards at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, which were held in association with Business Gateway and supported by Strathclyde Business School.
Our whole team at Mactaggart & Mickel Group is delighted to receive this accolade which particularly recognizes family businesses, and by extension the people that contribute so much to their success; this is particularly poignant during our 90th year giving us one more reason to celebrate this amazing milestone.
It was reported in The Herald that John Anderson, director of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, praised Mactaggart & Mickel Group saying the company is “still innovating and creating prosperity”.
Presenting the award above are Dr John Anderson of Strathclyde Business School, and Carol Smillie.
Receiving the award L – R are General Manager Timber Systems, Stuart Douglas, Director Joanne Casey, Architectural Manager Nicola McGuinness, Marketing Manager Jenny Harvie Miller and Field Sales Manager Laura MacKenzie
