Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ mark of excellence has stood the test of time. The Mactaggarts and the Mickels have a long history of housebuilding spanning two World Wars and numerous recessions. Since the family run company was incorporated in 1925 it has continued to lead the way in quality and innovative housebuilding.
Now a fourth generation family business run by the Mickels – a feat achieved by only 3% of family run organisations in the UK - the company has evolved to maintain our place as the Scottish housebuilder with the highest reputation.
We have experienced many achievements during the last nine decades from our 70 year legacy of building new homes in Hillpark to helping to create the Athletes’ Village as part of a consortium for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Throughout our 90 year history we have a strong record of delivering quality living spaces, from contemporary apartments to traditional family homes. We are happy to say that a number of our housebuyers now live in their second or third Mactaggart & Mickel built home. We are also very proud to have been awarded a Five Star rating from the House Building Federation for customer satisfaction.
Our current portfolio comprises 15 developments across Scotland, including a number of exciting upcoming developments to be released this year to help celebrate this momentous landmark in our company’s history.
To mark such a momentous year Mactaggart & Mickel has selected Cancer Research UK as our official charity partner.
Cancer is one of the greatest health problems facing Scotland today, but wherever people are being treated for cancer in Scotland, Cancer Research UK is discovering the drugs and treatments that save lives. They are the only cancer charity dedicated to fighting all 200 cancers; for which they receive no government funding for research.
Throughout the course of the year, we’re going to be organising and getting involved in various fundraising activities to help contribute towards the charity’s research funding. With a grand fundraising target of £20,000, we have our work cut out for us but together we can help create more tomorrows for more families.
