Across our developments from Ayr to Dalkeith, at our Timber Systems factory in Bellshill and at our head office in Glasgow City Centre we ceremoniously marked turning 90 with a slice of birthday cake.
Now a fourth generation family business – a feat achieved by only 3% of family run organisations in the UK - the company has constantly evolved in order to maintain our place as the Scottish homebuilder with the highest reputation.
We have experienced many achievements during the last nine decades from our first contract in 1925 building new homes at King’s Park to helping to create the Athletes’ Village as part of a consortium for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Throughout our 90 year history we have a strong record of delivering quality living spaces from contemporary apartments to traditional family homes and we have built a total 248 developments and over 40,086 new homes to date. We are happy to say that a number of our homebuyers now live in their second or third Mactaggart & Mickel built home.
We are also very proud of the 86 National House Building Council Pride in the Job Awards that our site teams have won and that we have maintained our Five Star rating from the House Building Federation for customer satisfaction.
Our portfolio comprises 15 developments across Scotland, including a number of exciting upcoming developments to be released this year to help celebrate this momentous landmark in our company’s history. These new developments include Braemore Wood in Troon, Mure Park in Uplawmoor, Lockhart Woods in Craiglockhart and Castle Grove in Newton Mearns.
We like to thank all our employees, partners and homebuyers, past and present for their contributions to 90 years of homebuilding success.
