Mactaggart & Mickel on cloud nine after earning five-star customer satisfaction rating for ninth year in a row

Family housebuilders Mactaggart & Mickel are on cloud nine after winning a prestigious national accolade – for the ninth year in a row.

The Glasgow-based company are celebrating after landing their ninth consecutive ‘five-star’ rating from the industry leaders in recognition of their exceptional customer service skills.

The Home Builders Federation’s award is based on the independent industry Customer Satisfaction Survey, in which homebuyers provide feedback on the quality of new properties, the overall buying experience and whether they would recommend their housebuilder to friends.

Despite the challenges that the past year has presented due to restrictions created by the coronavirus pandemic, Mactaggart & Mickel have again emerged with flying colours – earning the highest ‘five-star’ accolade from the HBF industry body for the ninth year running, since being eligible to apply in 2013.

Ed Monaghan, Chief Executive Officer at Mactaggart & Mickel, said:

“This is a really great achievement because it confirms that Mactaggart & Mickel are a company that people can trust, which means everything to us.

“We are all enormously proud to have gained this award for a ninth year in a row because it shows our standards are consistently excellent.

“The last 12 months have been challenging, but this 5-star rating is testament to people’s all-round commitment and hard work across the company to achieve the highest of levels of customer service.

“We’re very grateful for the patience and understanding shown by all our customers and we’ve been extremely humbled by the positive feedback they’ve shared with us during these toughest of times.”

Stewart Baseley, Executive Chairman at the Home Builders Federation, said:

“To achieve a 5-star rating, meaning that at least 90% of your customers would recommend you, is a fantastic achievement that requires commitment from everyone within the organisation.

“Four successive years of improved satisfaction levels show the clear focus builders have been putting on the customer. That this level of satisfaction has been delivered during a pandemic makes it even more of an achievement.

“The industry remains committed to maintaining the significant progress and fully supports moves to put an independent New Homes Ombudsman in place to strengthen customer protections and continue to drive up standards.

Renowned for their quality, all Mactaggart & Mickel homes undergo a final quality check from a company director or senior manager, known as the Seal of Approval, to ensure stringent construction standards are always met.
