They say some things are worth waiting for and that certainly appears to be the case when it comes to a Mactaggart & Mickel home.

First-time buyer Gillian Dunsmuir had her heart set on moving into her new Mactaggart & Mickel home last September – until Covid-19 intervened.

The secondary schoolteacher saw her plans pushed back until early 2021 but her patience has paid off and now she’s in her new home where she couldn’t be happier.

Gillian, 27, committed herself last February to buying her first home at the Greenan Views development in Doonfoot on the picturesque Ayrshire coast.

“I was so taken with Greenan Views because I’d grown up in the middle of the countryside. When I first visited, I saw it was blessed with lots of green space in front of it so I knew it was perfect for me."

“I’d be able to enjoy the best of both worlds – a countryside feeling because nothing was going to get in the way of my view and feeling part of a community."

“I was also really impressed with the overall quality of the house, efficiency of the heating system and high quality of the finishes. The fact I was able to purchase extras for my home was a real bonus for me too.”

Gillian added: “Like most people, I’ve been working from home and the third bedroom has come in handy as a study looking out on to Greenan Castle and the beach."
